For a change of pace, I thought I'd show the
trackside components of the optical detection system I plan to use
for the staging tracks. This photo is taken at the entry to
the three track hidden staging yard located beneath the (future)
Spencer logging operation. The tower in the foreground
supports two infrared-LEDs that are used to illuminate the
photo-transistors down between the ties, each located below an
IR-LED . The switch leads to the two Illinois Central staging
tracks. The track by the wall is one of the Louisiana Central
staging tracks. |
