Here's a triple IR-LED support tower.
There are two of these located down near the end of these three
staging tracks. Despite the funky "Rube Goldberg" appearance,
the assembly is quite stout and should work well. There is an
IR-LED located over each of the tracks, along with the attendant
photo-transistors buried between the rails. The wiring isn't
exactly a study in professional neatness, but is electrically
sound. The feeders drop down to the 12 volt bus running below
the sub-roadbed. There are a total of 24 detection points on
the six staging tracks. |
